The Home of the Brave Quilts Project gives a handmade blanket to relatives
of each U.S. soldier killed in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Roslyn Atwood of Ridgway hopes to present a quilt to families of each of the 39 Colorado soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Atwood, who's been helped by Montrose quilter Gale Smith, has finished five quilts. (Post / RJ Sangosti)
Ridgway - Harold and Lois Geer's son, Army Pfc. George Geer, had been buried more than a year when Roslyn Atwood knocked at the door of their Cortez trailer and handed them a quilt she had made. . .

Montrose Quilt Show
HOB Colorado organizers Roslyn Atwood and Gale Smith had a booth at the 2006 Montrose Quilt Show where volunteers could sign up to help with the project. Several quilt guilds and individuals have since donated blocks and quilts as a result. Thanks to the Montrose Quilt Show organizers for sponsoring the booth.
