Sgt. Michael Yashinski

Sgt. Yashinski served in the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He was killed in Kirkuk, Iraq on December 24, 2003. This picture was taken by Sgt. Yashinski's best friend while he visited the Yashinskis.

PFC. George Geer

PFC George Geer gave his life in service of his country in Ar Ramadi, Iraq on January 17, 2005.

This quilt was presented to his family in his honor on December 21, 2005.

Thomas Slocum

Killed in action in the vicinity of An Nasiriyah. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on March 23, 2003.

This quilt was presented to the Slocum family in 2006.

Ssgt. Mark Lawton

Lawton was in a convoy that was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade north of As Suaydat, Iraq. Lawton was assigned to the 244th Engineer Battalion, U.S. Army Reserve, Grand Junction, Colorado. Died on August 29, 2003.

This quilt was presented to the Lawton family in 2006.

Marine Lance Cpl. Chad B. Maynard

Maynard died when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations near Ar Ramadi, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, his unit was operating with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division of the U.S. Army, which was attached to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward). Died on June 15, 2005.

This quilt was presented to the Maynard family in 2005.

Marine Lance Cpl. Jeremy P. Tamburello

Jeremy Tamburello died from wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations just west of Rutbah, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Light Armor Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on November 8, 2005.

This quilt was presented Jeremy's sister, Monica Smith, in November 2006.
